This Privacy Policy explains how Passpix ("Passpix", "the App", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the App. Passpix is an AI photo studio that turns a photo you provide into ID photos, professional headshots, retouched portraits, outfit changes, restored old photos, cut-out backgrounds, and high-resolution upscales. Because the App processes photographs, including images of your face, please read this Policy carefully.
Please read this Policy together with our Terms & Conditions. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.
Photo-library and camera access are requested through the standard iOS permission prompts and are used only to let you choose or capture the photo you want to edit.
Through Google Firebase Analytics we collect aggregated, event-level information such as which tools you use (for example: an ID photo was created, a background was removed, an image was upscaled), session timing, app version, device model, operating-system version, language, and approximate region. These events are used to understand and improve the App, not to inspect the content of your photos.
Through Firebase Crashlytics we collect crash reports and technical diagnostics (device state, stack traces, identifiers needed to group crashes) so we can fix stability problems.
We use Google AdMob to display ads to users who are not subscribed. Ad providers may process your IP address, device and ad identifiers, and ad-interaction data. On iOS, access to the device advertising identifier (IDFA) for cross-app tracking is requested through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt and is used only if you grant permission. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be less personalized.
Subscriptions (weekly, monthly, and yearly plans) are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive transaction and subscription-status information from Apple needed to unlock features and manage your usage allowance. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
When the App communicates with our servers we automatically process standard technical data such as IP address, request timestamps, and basic device information for security, abuse prevention, and service delivery.
When you use any tool, the photo you provide is encoded and transmitted over a secure connection to our backend
(cai.noody.org), which acts as a proxy and forwards the request to our third-party AI processor,
Replicate, Inc., and the models running on it. Depending on the tool, these may include
FLUX Kontext (by Black Forest Labs) for outfit changes and portrait edits, Real-ESRGAN
for high-resolution upscaling and face enhancement, and background-removal models. These services process your image
and return the edited result to your device.
This means your photo leaves your device and is processed by these providers during generation. Please only upload photos you are comfortable processing in this way, and avoid uploading images of other people without their consent or images containing information you consider highly sensitive.
We do not use your photos to train our own or third parties' AI models.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers needed to run the App:
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Apple | App distribution, subscriptions, ATT | Purchase/subscription status, identifiers |
| Replicate, Inc. (and underlying AI models) | Generate and edit photos (ID photos, headshots, retouch, outfit change, restore, cutout, upscale) | The photo you submit and your chosen tool options |
| Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics) | Usage analytics and crash diagnostics | Event and device data, diagnostics |
| Google AdMob | Advertising | Ad and device identifiers, IP, ad interactions |
We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.
Our service providers, including Replicate, Apple, and Google, may process data on servers located in the United States and other countries. By using the App you acknowledge that your information may be processed outside your country of residence, with safeguards as required by applicable law.
Where the GDPR applies, we process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the photo-editing feature), on the basis of your consent (e.g., personalized advertising via ATT), and for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the App. Where required, your uploading of a photo for processing constitutes your consent to that processing.
Passpix is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.
We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections, to protect information in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the App. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
